Lego Friends - Olivia's House - Birthday Cake

My daughter asked for a Lego Friends birthday party. This is a great idea however, since Lego Friends is such a new thing, there was hardly anything on the market for a birthday party. We had fun putting things together for the day. But figuring what kind of cake to make, was the hardest part.

We finally settled on a Olivia's House cake and this is how it turned out. My daughter helped by making the carrots on the side and the oval flower patch in the front of the house.

All that matters is that my daughter loved it, which she did!!!

Mason's 3rd Birthday - Batman

My Sweet little boy turned 3 this past week and we celebrated for almost a week. We had a batman birthday party on Saturday and I had a great time using my Silhouette Cameo to get ready for the party. It started out with a polka-dot garland in the colors of the party - black, grey and yellow. Then people were greeted at the door with this Welcome to the Batcave sign.

Each child received a bat-cape.

After going through an obstacle course and finding their weapons (bat-a-rangs) they found the Joker and threw their weapons at him.

Here is the birthday boy and the Joker!

Some more decorations included this sign as people walked in the house. We also had this small balloon garland with some batman signs hanging from them.

These were our favor bags.

Then we built Gotham City with boxes.

Backdrop for our table and Happy Birthday Sign.

And last but not least, the Birthday Cake. Gluten-Free chocolate cake with chocolate frosting.

So fun!!!!!!!

First Birthday Bonanza

I was asked by a Facebook acquaintance to make a cake for her son's first birthday. She gave me the details and colors and this is the result. The chevron stripes were difficult. I spent many hours working those out. I have learned a few lessons. I also used my silhouette cameo to cut the letters for the name and it worked so well with the sugar sheets that are created by Wilton.

Relief Society Birthday Cake

Birthday Cake: Sarah Leavitt Cakes

I was asked to do the Relief Society Birthday Cake for my ward this year. I loved how it turned out. Everyone loved it. In the background are the gluten-free cupcakes from www.glutenfreeheaven.com which are absolutely scrumptious.

My little boy is 1

My youngest turned 1 over the weekend. I made him two cakes. One for the birthday dinner and one for his photo shoot. He loves balls so his dinner cake was using the Wilton ball pan which was horrible. I followed all instructions and kept it in the oven longer than instructed and the middle still collapsed and it doesn't hold the ball shape very well. It is also very difficult to decorate the underside of the cake.
I learned a lot with this cake.

The next one was using the large rosettes which I just love.

Under the Sea - 5th Birthday Cake

A sweet little girl at my daughters preschool gave her mom a challenge. She wanted a dolphin cake and then changed her mind to want a pink fish cake. Her Mom asked me about my cakes and I suggested we do a cake with a dolphin coming out of the top and pink fish on the sides. She loved it but I took it a step further and did a complete "Under the Sea" theme. The sweet little girl loved the cake and it was so fun to do!!

Happy Birthday Brooke
